All coaches from A-Star are appropriately experienced, have qualifications recognised by the FA, enhanced CRB checks and first aid certificate.

A-Star are looking to recruit new coaches in 2016 as the business looks to develop. The company has a new office open now and if you are looking for a career in sports coaching then A-Star Coaching can provide that opportunity for you.

We have secured new schools contracts in Manchester and now have a work force of over 20 people and are aiming to continue the project that we have started.

Rick Bell - General Manager Rick has a National Diploma in Sports Science and a Sports and PE Degree. Rick has his FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 football coaching certificates and has completed FA Module 1 and module 2. Rick is a former centre of excellence player at Oldham Athletic professional football club and has been on the coaching and scouting staff at Blackburn Rovers Youth Academy for over 7 years. He has 15 years experience of working in primary schools, school holiday courses and football coaching centres. Rick was the former Managing Director and Owner of South Manchester Mini Soccer and the owner and creator of the Heaton Mersey Vipers Junior Football Club. Rick has worked in sports and football development for a long time and has vast experience and knowledge of this industry.

Graham Bell - Company Director Graham is a company director at A-Star Coaching and watches over the business side of the company Graham currently owns 2 small businesses in the music industry and is very successful in his own right. With 4 A-levels and a 2:1 Honours Degree he is an intelligent and professional man and a vital part of the business going forward.

Daniel Rawlinson - Senior Sports Coach Daniel is a former Academy football player with Crewe Alexandra and Sheffield United. Daniel has his FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 football coaching qualifications as well as his FA Emergency aid and child protection certificates. Daniel has worked in the USA as a head coach on sports and football development courses and has returned to England to work at A Star as a sports and football coach in the Manchester Primary Schools. Daniel at 25 is an experienced coach and is a senior member of staff at A Star.

Alex Howarth - Senior Sports Coach Alex has completed his Sports Development Degree at the University of Chester with a 2:1 honours Award. Alex also has his FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 football coaching certificates with FA Emergency Aid and Child Protection certificates as well. Alex is undertaking his FA Youth Module coaching awards at the moment and will be completing his football coaching studies in the next year. Alex is starting to move up to a trainee Manager at the company in the New Year.

Gordon Agnew - Senior Sports Coach Gordon is an experienced coach in two sports, Football and Cricket. He has over ten years experience coaching and running ECB and FA affiliated junior cricket and football teams. Gordon is a qualified Level 2 cricket coach and a Level 1 football coach with a wide knowledge of coaching both of these sports.

Adrian Delves - Senior Sports Coach Adrian is an experienced football coach who has coached a wide range of age groups and has also worked abroad in Mexico City. In the past he has worked for West Ham United International Academy as a Goalkeeping coach and is currently working as a development coach at Everton. Adrian possesses FA Level 1 and 2 qualifications, FA Youth Modules 1 and 2 and also FA Level 1 in Goalkeeping. He is looking to further his coaching qualifications within the next year.

Joe Reidy – Senior Coach Joe is a former professional football player with Rochdale professional football club. Joe is now the football clubs head of coaching at Under 8 - Under 12 age group and at just 21 years of age is regarded as one of Greater Manchester's best young football coaches. Joe has his FA level 1 and level 2 certificates and has passed his UEFA B licence coaching badge at the age of just 20. Joe has also completed his FA Module 1 and Module 2 and is undertaking Module 3 in February 2012. Joe has experience of working in primary schools, school holiday courses and football coaching centres and has also managed football teams at centre of excellence level. A fantastic talent with a very bright future ahead in football and sports development. Joe has just moved from Rochdale to Blackburn Rovers Youth Academy and has taken up a position of youth coach within the Academy.

Ryan Usher - Sports Coach Ryan is studying his National Certificate in Sports and Physical Education studies at Aquinas college in Stockport. Ryan has completed and passed his FA Level 1 coaching certificate and has his FA emergency aid, child protection and soccer parent awards, Ryan has also just completed his FA Level 2 coaching award. Ryan has taken up a place as a head coach at the Vipers Junior Football Club and is working towards his UEFA B Coaching Licence which he aims to start in 2014. Ryan is now in Year 2 of his Sports Coaching Degree at Manchester University.

Tom Cox - Sports Coach Tom is another member of our team who has a wide knowledge of football. He worked at Wigan Athletic as part of a university placement and currently coaches with the citizens, giving projects with Manchester City. Tom also coached full time in America for 2 years from 2012 to 2014. He has FA Level 1 and 2 qualifications and both FA Youth Modules 1 and 2.

James Plant - Sports Coach James has been working in schools for A Star now for over a year and is one of the longest serving members of our team. Before joining the company, James attained a degree in sports coaching from the University of Central Lancashire. He is also qualified in football coaching with an FA Level 1.

Riddick Mayanu - Sports Coach Riddick firstly joined the company as a casual coach and has since progressed to become a regular coach working in schools daily. He possesses both his FA Level 1 and 2 and has also completed his FA Youth Award Module 1 and is aiming to further his football qualifications. Riddick has previous work experience in the sports industry working for FC United of Manchester and their mental health team.
